Achondroplasia

Referred to as dwarfism.  It is caused by a genetic mutation of the fibroblast growth factor receptor gene 3 (FGFR3).

Acquired Brain Injury

(ABI) is an insult to the brain that occurs at or after birth. ABIs may be a result of injury or trauma to the head, anoxia, infections, neurologic incidents, or tumors.

 • Movement-related functions 

 • Respiratory functions

Depending on the parts of the brain that were damaged by the accident, children with ABI may struggle with a variety of motor, process, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
